In Ghana, this is clearly manifested in the three northern regions where illiteracy is positively correlated with high poverty levels. Education is therefore the key to development. In order for us to consciously reduce poverty, there is the need to improve the educational system Which is why the AFRICAN YOUTH WRITERS ORGANIZATION in Tamale came up with the idea of teaching and training young children to participate and increase their interest in reading and writing. The AYWO currently are working closely with the Tamale Regional Library .   Yendi is a town and the capital of Yendi Municipal district , district in the Northern Region of north Ghana . Yendi has a 2012 settlement population of 52,008 people.   Mr. Abdul-Majeed Chandoo, Assemblyman for Kumfong Electoral Area in the Yendi Municipality has appealed to the Regional Coordinating council to assist Yendi Township with water tankers to help supply water to the residents. He said for the past two weeks the Ghana Water Company in Yendi had not pumped water to the township due to the drying up of River Dakar, the main source of domestic water for the area. Mr. Chandoo made the appeal when he briefed the media at Yendi about the water situation. He indicated that every day, men, women and school children carried yellow jerry-cans and drums looking for water from the few boreholes in the Municipality. I really get very pissed off anytime a group of northerners or Muslims do something which is neither good nor bad, then useless, senseless and idiots who call themselves humans make hurtful comments on social media. Some of you don't even know northern region, you only see pictures of it on TV or social media.  Before you look down upon us take a trip to the three northern regions and take a close look at us very well.is just that the media concentrate on the ugly side and ignore the good side, which I know one day, just one day you will see the good side of the north.
