Northern Ghana 'poor' despite NGOs presence

Ghana's northern region is known for the concentration of NGOs located there. But despite this strong presence of aid organizations, the region continues to be plagued with endemic poverty. All the NGOs that come to northern Ghana come with one perceived mission: to serve the people and help them fight poverty. But despite this, poverty is on the increase. Sociologist Alhaji Mohammed Saani is critical of NGO activities, describing them as  "giving someone something with your left hand and taking it back with your right hand." Many residents are now doubtful about accepting NGO projects in their communities. Asana Mohammed owns a beauty hair salon in Ghana's northern capital, Tamale. Network Lagfu on a Peace Campaign

Network Lagfu Its amazing to see young men and women taking the lead in preaching peace, as the December 7 th elections is drawing closer as each day goes by. In recent times the youth have been victims of political violence, p oliticians insight them to embark on violent activities but thanks to the likes of Network Lagfu, a young energetic musician from Tamale Ghana, the youth have taken the lead to champion and preach peace. Network Lagfu began primary school at Accra Madina D/A primary, and later had to move back to Zabzugu  Tuvugu D/A primary school then to Zabzugu D/A J.H.S and to Zabzugu Senior High school, were he completed in 2013 Network Lagfu is from a Royal family, the Tamale based rapper is related to the Zabzugu Royal family of Naa Salifu Dramani. Network Lagfu released a peace song earlier this month as his contribution to promoting peace. Speaking to Sanatu Zambang, Network Lagfu started showing interest in music since he was a kid.
