However, a quick thought will let you know no single Northern dialect has been included. Are we not Ghanaians? Does it mean our Gonja, Dagomba, Frafra, Waala, Mamprusi, Kasina, Bimoba, Kokomba, Nanumba and Sisaala brothers and sisters who do not speak nor write in English cannot drive? Mind you Hausa is not a language of the Northern people, I live in Tamale but I cannot speak Hausa, ma ny more are my likes. A top British innovation award has been presented to the Savannah Agriculture Research Institute (SARI) and its partners implementing the Alliance for Green Revolution Africa’s (AGRA) Agriculture Value Chain Mentorship Project. At the awards night  SARI and Country Wise Communications, Ghana, a private agency, jointly won two awards recently at the International Visual Communications Association (IVCA) Clarion Awards 2013, in London. The US President signed a disaster declaration late on Friday 29 May 2015 for areas in Texas hit by floods and severe weather that has killed over 20 people in the state, with several still missing. Rescue and emergency teams found the bodies of 4 more victims yesterday. Latest reports say that 11 people are still missing. In Texas alone, 24 people have died in floods this month. Four people also died in floods that hit Oklahoma . More heavy rain fell yesterday, Friday 29 May 2015, with Dallas the worst hit. Some areas saw up to seven inches (17.8 cm) of rain fall in 24 hours. Thousands of drivers were trapped for 5 or 6 hours on a suburban freeway blocked by floods. Emergency crews found the body of a man who drowned in his vehicles after it was swept away by flood water in Mesquite. The rain has fallen non-stop in parts of Texas since early May . Senegalese-American pop sensation Akon is to launch an ambitious solar energy project which will, it is believed, bring electricity to 600 million Africans     Many who know Aliaune Damala Bouga Time Bongo Puru Nacka Lu Lu Lu Badara Akon Thiam (aka Akon) for his grammy-nominated and platinum-selling work may not be aware that the 43 year-old artist has a grand vision for bringing electricity to Africa. Through the Akon Lighting Africa initiative, which has done much work in this field , the artist will launch a solar academy where African engineers and entrepreneurs can learn the skills needed to develop social power. Operators in the Domestic Airline Industry have been urged to stop discriminating against persons with disability and allow them to travel on their airlines. She told them she was traveling with her mother who usually helps etc. She explained to them how sit usually goes but they said no. They must take the needed steps to give meaning to the Disability Act of Ghana and other internationally accepted aviation policies. The Chief Executive Officer of SEND-GHANA, Siapha Kamara stated this in an interview with Radio Ghana following the refusal of the Africa World Airlines and other domestic airlines to allow a Mandela-Washington Fellow Ndifreke Andrews-Essien to travel on their aircraft to Tamale.
