But there are exceptional ones and of such women is Mama Laadi. Mama Laadi is a community nurse in Bolga from the Upper East region of Ghana. The spirit child documentary by Genie Films tells a story of a selfless woman passion to give home to kids abandoned by their families through no fault of theirs. Mama Laadi a street child once before has made her mission in life to give shelter and hope to the abandoned children in her community. Most of the children who live at Mama Laadi’s Foster Home are either abuse victims, or “spirit children”— children born with some form of deformity and deemed to be possessed by evil spirits. Kwabena Gyansah and his Anansi Entertainment crew latest movie, Azali is also adding to the tall list of Kayayie movie but with a different twist to the narrative of the story. Azali tells the story of Amina born in poverty with a bleak future in a village in the north is sent to Accra to seek for greener pastures by her Mum. Amina is taken from her village by another woman who is said to be in that business of helping young girls in the village to travel out.  But unknown to her Mum, this said woman is engage in child trafficking.  Amina in her pursuit to return to her mother after been a victim for child trafficking is raped, goes into prostitution and also find love and her long-lost father in the end.
