Derrick Rex Kpogeh Hails Don Sigli as Best in Tamale

Youth SpeakUp Discuss Violence Against Women at Hopin Academy

  Hopin Academy and its partners; RUMNET, YEFL and Ghana Friends in Denmark have launched the Youth Speak UP project to speak out against many of these social vices including the violence against women . The project focuses mainly on youth in some four deprived districts of Tamale, Northern Ghana; Kumbungu, Savelugu, Saboba and Karaga. Youth Speak Up will be holding both offline and online discussions on how to curb violence against women in the identified districts. In recent times i have seen on news papers and on television, women been insulted and called names by public and political officials, In my observation that educated men and even public figures still don't value the efforts of women in our societies regardless of their educational achievements, business success and many more. One could say that disrespecting women used to happen back in the days, sorry to disappoint you but as of this moment well educated men still stand in public, insult women, attacking their gender and some how i would say jealous and suspicious about their success. There have attempts to scare, isolate, or control women, these I classify as also abuse. They affect their physical and emotional well-being. Violence strikes women from all kinds of backgrounds and of all ages. It can happen at work, on the street, or at home. Sometimes, women are attacked by strangers, but most often they are hurt by people who are close to them, such as a husband, partner at w
