Wiyaala Filming KANDABANYE
KANDABANYE is the new music video Noella Wiyaala is set to release, the song is about a man who breaks a woman's heart, as the woman plans on seeking revenge. Wiyaala and her management are currently on location filming the video. The songstress posted some videos and pictures on social media of her and other cast members.
Born Noella Wiyaala, the All Africa Music Award winner sings in English and in Sissala and Waale. Wiyaala is known as an advocate for gender equality. In July, she spoke to the BBC about child marriage and issues within the Ghana music industry. “I can use my music to throw light on these things. And use myself as example,” she said.
Although Wiyaala will perform in September for the Legends of Africa event, before playing with her compatriot Rocky Dawuni a GRAMMY nominated Ghanaian singer and songwriter who performs his signature 'Afro Roots' sound which is a mixture of Reggae, Afrobeat, Highlife and soul music
in Los Angeles.
She has announced date for forthcoming appearances onstage in the UK, Germany and the US.
Kicking off her list of upcoming performances is the prestigious Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London on 24 August. Thereafter, Wiyaala will appear at the launch of the Ghana Music Week in London as well.
It will then be Germany’s turn to host the singer on 26 August at the Afrika Festival taking place in Hamburg. After playing several concerts in Europe.
Wiyaala has been in the spotlight since winning a talent show as member of a group called Black N Peach. She’s currently brand ambassador for a number of agencies.Wiyaala's first release after the breakup with Black N Peach was the single "Make Me Dance". Originally produced byGenius Selection in Ghana, it has been remixed in Los Angeles by Bill Delia for the international market. "Make Me Dance", along with an acoustic version, will be distributed on the Djimba World Records label under exclusive license toParis-based JTV Digital. The single has been released internationally on 7 October 2013, and it is available on iTunes.
The music video "Make Me Dance" was shot in the studio and on location at Prampram. It features Wiyaala in scenes shot underwater and dancers from the Henokami Culture Troupe from New Ningo. Wiyaala had to take swimming lessons for the best performance while on camera.
"Make Me Dance" got released also in remixed form in Nu-disco, Breakbeat, Drum and bass and Trance styles on 9 December 2013. The "Make Me Dance" Remix EP was mastered in the Paris-based La Source Mastering Studio and released worldwide through Djimba World Records. On 8 December 2013, Wiyaala and Plug.dj held an online-only listening party of the "Make Me Dance" Remixes EP before the official release.
On 28 February 2014, Wiyaala released a new single, "You Got The Power", again distributed on the Djimba World Records label.The single is also available on iTunes.
