Mr Joe lartey aka ''OVER TO YOU'' is probably one of the most knowledgeable, well exposed and experienced broadcaster in Ghana. He joined the Ghana broadcasting corporation in 1961 as a sports and ceremonial commentator. He quickly became a star and virtually the eyes and ears of every Ghanaian listener. He earned the sobriety '' over to you '' in recognition of the frequency and transitions in his stimulating commentary broadcast during the hectic days of the first republic. When Tv came to Ghana in 1965, Joe lartey effectively presented the popular programme ''SPORTS DIGEST''  till 1938 when he crossed the borders to sojourn in Nigeria as a political refugee. The federal radio corporation of Nigeria readily engaged him to continue his captivating sports and ceremonial commentary for 8 years. He also taught at the program training school in FRCN. WATER IS LIFE

Image
Water is important to the mechanics of the human body. The body cannot work without it, just as a car cannot run without gas and oil. In fact, all the cell and organ functions that make up our entire anatomy and physiology depend on water for their functioning.   I'm dying of thirst!" Well, you just might. It sounds so simple. H20 - two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen. This substance also known as water, is one of the most essential elements to health and is so important that your body actually has a specific drought management system in place to prevent dehydration and ensure your survival. Water might be everywhere, but one must never take it for granted. Water makes up more than two thirds of human body weight, and without water, we would die in a few days. The human brain is made up of 95% water, blood is 82% and lungs 90%. A mere 2% drop in our body's water supply can trigger signs of dehydration: fuzzy short-term memory, trouble wi...

The cultural depiction of cats and their relationship to humans is as old as civilization and stretches back over 9,500 years. Cats have figured in the history of many nations, are the subject of legend and are a favorite subject of artists and writers. Earliest history Cats were originally domesticated because they hunted mice that would eat stored grains, protecting the food stores. It was a beneficial situation for both species: cats got a reliable source of prey, and humans got effortless pest control. This mutually beneficial arrangement began the relationship between cats and humans which continues to this day. While the exact history of human interaction with cats is still somewhat vague, a shallow grave site discovered in 1983 in Cyprus , dating to 7500 BCE, during the Neolithic period, contains the skeleton of a human, buried ceremonially with stone tools, a lump of iron oxide, and a handful of seashells. In its own tiny grave 40 centimeters (18 inches)...

Muslims discovered the Americas more than three centuries before Christopher Columbus.

Image
Muslims discovered the Americas more than three centuries before Christopher Columbus, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said. He made the claim during a conference of Latin American Muslim leaders in Istanbul, pointing to a diary entry in which Columbus mentioned a mosque on a hill in Cuba. Mr Erdogan also said "Muslim sailors arrived in America in 1178". He said he was willing to build a mosque at the site Columbus identified. The Turkish president - whose AK Party is rooted in political Islam - gave no further evidence to back up his theory, instead stating: "Contacts between Latin America and Islam date back to the 12th Century." Controversial article Columbus is widely believed to have discovered the Americas in 1492, while trying to find a new route to India. But in a disputed article published in 1996, historian Youssef Mroueh said Columbus' entry was proof that Muslims had reac...

THAT IS ME

Image
THAT IS ME All i wanted is to be the best of the best among the best. A leader for the people. I did all i could to make all love me.. Was i over shining? In life we disagree at times and agree sometimes. That is the world, but the sun still rise at east and set in the west. Ponder i have, the people have charged. Did i deserve to die that way. Left on the sand like a homeless pet. We stand beside each other shaking hands and smiling at each other eye balls. We wine and dined on the same table. I was the light of my continent. I never meant to burn other people eyes.  Don't pity me nor celebrate me. They hug me, shake hands with me, praise me. Please don't judge me nor them. The master judge is below us and above us, watching us everywhere, thy knows who cares. That is me
Ampe is a game played long before anyone can remember,Since African history has not been put on paper and pen due to lack of formal education back in the centuries no one can really tell the exact origin of ampe. So its history remains a mystry but ampe is still the game little girls love to play when they have nothing to do...The game has been in existence for more Than 200years. African children play this game during their childhood to teen age. Some believe it originate in Ghana. Elders in the northern part of Ghana believe that people of the ashanti region developed/created ampe. They say the game was played by old women, when they had nothing doing. They form a round circle, then pick a leader to be in the middle. They jump and clap their hands at the same time and put forward their legs. If both the leader and the one she picks to begin the game put forward their right leg at the same time then the leader has lost, if she loses for the second and third then she joins...
