WHY MUSLIMS REFRAIN FROM EATING PORK

Image
Islam is a religion that is simple and easy to follow. It prohibits a small number of foodstuffs, either because of the way that they are caught and prepared is contradictory to the laws and principles of Islam, or because the negative effects and potential harms of consuming them are greater than the benefits. Pork and pig derivatives, including ham and bacon, are one such forbidden food. The primary reason that Muslims refrain from eating pork is in submission to Almighty God, and in recognition that He knows what is best for His creation. However, we also know that pork has significant health risks, and this is perhaps one of the reasons why the Qur’an describes pork as impure: “Say, “I do not find within that which was revealed to me [anything] forbidden to one who would eat it unless it be a dead animal, or blood spilled out, or the flesh of swine – for indeed, it is impure – or it be [an animal slaughtered in] disobedience, dedicated to other than Allah . Image
The World Bank’s recent report, Turn Down the Heat: Climate Extremes, Regional Impacts, and the Case for Resilience, underscores the urgency of supporting African farmers now so that they can better cope with the potential impacts of a changing climate. Turn Down the Heat finds that an increase of 4 degrees Celsius worldwide would spell increased droughts, more frequent flooding, and shifts in rainfall in Africa, jeopardising the region’s food security and economic growth. STUDENTS TO PETITION NATIONAL SERVICE SECRETARIAT FOR ALLOWANCE INCREMENT

Image
Lately i have noticed students complain about the National Service scheme not been helpful but rather stressing and frustrating, my high school mate '' Pharis Deyshini'' made a post days after graduating from the University for Development Studies Wa campus, he wrote '' I want to serve my country. That is why I'm leaving home miles away for my national service. I'm first of all leaving home and transporting myself to the town I'll do my service. That's my expenses, and since I don't work, my parents are paying. I will be feeding myself, boarding a vehicle, and using light and water on daily basis, to mention few. Do you think I have to call Dad and mum to pay my electricity and water bills every month whiles I'm working for the progress of the country? Should I be burdened with what to eat and what to drink while on the job? How will I even go to work if there's no money in my pocket for transportation. For this and many other...
