The Golden Movie Awards seeks to honour outstanding achievement in the Ghanaian and Africa television, digital media and film industries and is administered by the expert in the Cinema & Television.
The Awards which is instituted by NMJ GHANA and its Africa and international partners seeks to bring together more than 1,500 key film professionals, craftspeople and decision‐makers from across Ghana and Africa, to honour, celebrate and promote the talent and accomplishments of the Ghanaian and African, film industries.
Nominations for the Golden Movie Awards will be from February 11TH, 2015 to April 12th, 2015. Whereas every movie producer can file its nomination and characters, the jury however at its own discretion can nominate a film or a character for an award base on performance.
The Jury and organizer will send out a Call‐for‐Entries to film industry members across Ghana and Africa. Official Rules and Regulations of the awards are posted on the Movie Awards and attached to it is the application forms available for download. Entrants are to submit their films and forms:
  1. Through the official website
  2. Pick up forms from the office of the Awards organizers OR designated places.
Any film that meets the current eligibility criteria may enter for consideration.
Entries must be submitted (signed) by the owner of the film or the owner’s Authorized Representative with respect to the rule #6.
Nominating Committees are assembled from across the country, and nominations are tabulated by the  Jury.
Voting will be done through our online voting system accross Africa, and the ballot will be tabulated finally by independent accounting firm for the winners in each Category, once the voting period is Complete, the winners will be announced during the main event. Special Awards Recipients are proposed by members, and subsequently approved by the Board of Directors of the Golden Movie awards and the JURY.

The GOLDEN MOVIE AWARDS Foundation’s mission is three-tiered; to honor and celebrate movie markers, to discover and cultivate emerging talent and to celebrate the appreciation of the creative arts.

To project and make the works of the African movie industry an attractive venture for investors.
THEME
Build a goal & protect it: We believe everyone in life has a dream or let’s say a goal, the first edition of this award will focus on building the stakeholders of the film industry in Africa through our developmental programs that have been developed together with some of our partners. We will elaborate more on the need to “protect the goal” in able to achieve it.


BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR FILMS/YOUR NAME FOR THIS AWARDS THESE ARE RULES YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE GOLDEN MOVIE AWARD.
  1. Only films produced and or released for public viewing between January 2013 and December 2014 will be accepted for the 2015 Awards. The actual release date must be indicated on the entry form and the year of copyright must be indicated on the film.
  2. The GMA JURY will only accept a director’s cut of not more than 140 minutes. Premiere and market copies that are submitted should not be more than 140 minutes long.
  3. All films produced in languages other than English must be fully subtitled. These would include aesthetic devices such as songs, proverbs, chants, pidgin/vernacular words and expressions
  4. Filmmakers must ensure that the copy of the film/DVD submitted is of good picture and audio quality. Any film found to be sub-standard in any of these areas would automatically be disqualified. Clarity of picture is of essence
  5. GMA reserves the right to transfer submissions to a master hard drive digital library as it is hoping to build a permanent GMA digital library, however GMA will not theatrically or otherwise screen for commercial purposes any film without the express written consent of the appropriate right holder(s)
  6. If the filmmaker or practitioner entering the film is not the copyright owner, he/she must submit a letter of consent to enter the film from the copyright owner
Three (3) DVD’s of the film must reach GMA together with a signed copy before the end of date. Submissions received after the above deadline will not be considered. In addition, filmmakers submitting entries are advised not to use paper labels on DVD’s as they sometimes prevent DVD’s from playing The Entrant must have received an on‐screen credit in the Category in which they are entered. A copy of the credit list as it appears on screen is a requirement upon submission of the Entry. In the case of dispute concerning credit, the GMA JURY reserves the right to determine eligibility.
In the case of all disputes, the decision of the GMA JURY Board of Directors will be final.
  1. The Entrant warrants that the film is eligible to be entered in accordance with the GOLDEN MOVIE Awards Rules and Regulations, as contained herein.
  2. The Entrant warrants that all rights, including rights to the musical score, necessary to exhibit the film within the context of Awards events and the Golden Movie Awards, are assigned to the GMA JURY. The Entrant further grants to the GMA JURY in perpetuity the right to use any Entry for the future enhancement or promotion of Awards content and/or the awards. The Entrant covenants to indemnify the GMA
From any loss or damage suffered by it in the event that all such rights have not been transferred.
  1. Those submitting entries must ensure that they completely fill out the space provided for synopsis and for such details as cast and crew list, duration of film, country of production, original language of production, date of completion of production and date of release of film (s) etc
  2. By submitting a film into the Golden movie Awards, the entrant understands and accepts the Rules and Regulations.
  3. At the time of entry, the Entrant agrees to make their film available and grants GMA the right to use  it for the promotion of the awards for the duration of the Golden Movie  Awards process both pre awards activities and post awards activities and this extends to  its partners associated with the awards  ceremony
  4. These rules are subjected to change however additional rules and regulation can be issued to help grow and enhanced the award system ,such right is at the sole discretion of the awards organizers

Note: Films may be submitted in any language, however it is required that films be subtitled in English for the Purposes of online voters and for the use of the Nominating Committees.


ABOUT THE AWARDS.
The GOLDEN MOVIE AWARDS, is an African awards that seeks to honor individuals for their outstanding achievements in the film industry. The Awards recognizes film Excellence in a variety of categories
The Governing Board will also present one Lifetime Achievement Award, Humanitarian Award, Visionary Award, and the Spotlight Award.
The Award is an annual awards event which will be celebrating the achievements of work experience providers, and encouraging movie markers to continue raising quality standards, for an international appeal
The 2015 Awards will be our biggest and best event yet, as we at the Golden movie awards will celebrate excellence in the creative art industry, The Awards will be launched in February 2015 and the nominations will be opened to the public on 12th february 2015 after the launch on 11th february 2015
The nominees will be announced at a high-profile Press Dinner ceremony in  Accra  in May 2015 while the main event will be in June, 2015. Guests will be treated to a champagne reception with meals and great live band music which will be combined to make the night  fantastic with  networking opportunities on offer in an idyllic setting. Attendees will include award category finalists, sponsors, media representatives from national press and trade magazines, as well as practitioners from the field of the film industry it will be a night where all the stars in the sky will fall.
