Technology Application for Improved Agricultural Production

Networking among farmers stick holders in the agricultural sector and Agric input dealers has been a major problem facing northern farmers for decades. That is why the Ghana Agric-input dealers Association (GAIDA) in collaboration with IFDC and USAID/Ghana's Feed the Future Advance II Program, held the 3rd Northern Ghana Annual Pre-Session Planning and Networking forum in April last year.
The theme of the forum was Technology Application for Improved Agricultural Production, the event brought together 400 value chain actors along the rice, maize and soya beans commodity. This will help them establish direct market linkages prior to the planting season.
Farmers, input dealers, importers, equipment dealers, seed growers, mechanisation service providers, ICT firms and financial institutions from and across Ghana came under one roof, to improve technology for agricultural production, improving yields and safe guarding the environment and ICT application for agricultural information. This was a wonderful and exciting opportunity for participants to network, communicate and share best practices in the agricultural sector. Participants went around communicating and networking with business men and women, service providers and more to help them plan better for the season.
