Is Beast of the Nation a Ghanaian Film ? Rafiu Fishbone Asked

Before you praise Beast of the Nation as a Ghanaian Movie you have to first of all know the origin of the film, writer and director and language adopted in the film. The just ended Ghana Movie Awards has been heavily criticised by the large number of nominations Beast of the Nations has received and apparently winning almost all the awards last night, 30 December 2015.
Beast of the Nation has starred some Ghanaians actors and actresses but that does not make it a Ghanaian Movie, the likes of Prince David Osei, Akosua Busia have also starred in Hollywood Movies and these movies have been shot in other African countries but that does not make it a African Movie. Here is what you should know about Beast Of the Nation. Cary Joji Fukunage is the Director, Writer, Producer and Cinematographer of Beast of the Nation.
Beasts of No Nation is a 2015 American war drama film written, shot, and directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, about a young boy who survives as his country goes through a horrific war. Shot in Ghana and starring Idris Elba, Ama K. Abebrese, Abraham Attah, Grace Nortey, David Dontoh, and Opeyemi Fagbohungbe, the film is based on the 2005 novel of the same name by Uzodinma Iweala ― the book itself being named after a Fela Kuti album.
Cary Joji Fukunaga (born July 10, 1977) is an American film director, writer, and cinematographer. He is known for writing and directing the 2009 film Sin Nombre, the 2011 film Jane Eyre and for directing and executive producing the first season of the HBO series True Detective, for which he won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series. He has received acclaim for the 2015 war drama Beasts of No Nation, in which Fukunaga was writer, director, producer, and cinematographer.
The lessons Ghanaian film makers should it have learnt is that, there are still untold stories in Ghana, and film makers will have to sit and make proper research, script writing, directing and screenplay. Also film makers should realise that there are more talented people out there in the streets, not only in Accra but across the 10 regions of Ghana, who can equally display the talent Abraham Attah has displayed in Beast of the Nation or even do far better than him.
