DKB " Point Of View " Stand Up Comedy Show this 9th July 2016

Comedians are smart and brilliant people who take stress off their audience through humour. Nowadays even health professionals have suggested laughing therapy to some of their patients. The story of DKB began in Legon, in 2005, when he tried saving a show from flopping. His addiction to comedy started in the first year when he witnessed a ”joking competition”. he realized instantly that he had a thing for comedy. Personally I named him King of comedy for his act in the television series " Laugh a minute ".
Somewhere last year thus 2015, when Grandpapa of GhComedy, KSM officially crowned DKB as the new King of Comedy handing over the mantle to him with a crystal globe on The KSM Show. KSM said, “no matter how old I would be, one day I will open for your self-owned show, when you start someday.” That Day has been marked grandpapa.
The “POINT OF VIEW” STAND UP COMEDY SHOW coming on this 9 July 2016. Derrick Kobina Bonney, popularly known in entertainment circles as DKB, believes that “the gradual acceptance of GH Comedy” is what has led to local comedy acts getting the chance to perform on major entertainment platforms in recent times, and has finally stepped it up as he is set to bring his one-man comedy concert dubbed “POINT OF VIEW”
DKB is the first Ghanaian comedian to put together his very own comedy show. Point of view is basically to elaborate how i see things from culture, to politics, to entertainment and the daily life of a Ghanaian,etc. which is aimed at creating a positive impact. eg. I state a negative about an instance & give a solution, etc.- DKB stated. He is backed by the GH COMEDY ALL STARS on the night in the likes of Foster Romanus, James Brown, Khemical, Lexy, Jacinta and many more. Also performing on the night is the legendary Kwaku Sintim Missah (KSM) and comedienne Afia Schwarzenegger. We will jam to musical performances as well from Edem, E.L and more The program is powered by National Theater, Giant malt, Tigo, Ticket Ghana and many more. In addressing the issue of Ghanaians having a penchant for seeing comedians as stupid, simply because they make them laugh, at RINA’s inside the Osu Mall, to officially unveil the poster of the much anticipated " #Dkbpointofviewconcert ", He said he does not respond well to Ghanaians who see him in town and make fun of him because he is a comedian. He indicated that when he is on stage, he does everything to please his audience but when the show is over, he does everything to make sure that he is seen as a serious person. He blamed some pioneers in the industry for failing to draw a fine line between comedy and real life issues. The one- time Ghana’s Big Brother rep mentioned comedians, KSM and Fritz Baffuor as persons who have created a good image for themselves as comedians. KSM he noted, meddles in political and national issues because he understood the limits in comedy and Fitz Baffour who contested and won his way to Parliament after several years of comedy. DKB stressed, “I won’t give you the chance to tag me unserious because I do comedy and therefore you won’t listen to me when it comes to serious issues.”
