'' A Dream Come True '' Noella Wiyaala to Share Same Stage with Yvonne Chaka Chaka

The “Umqombothi” Princess Of Africa, Yvonne Chaka Chaka  headlining this year's Vodafone African Legends Night this September 24th at the Banquet Hall, State House, seems to carry a greater wave of excitement.

A night of celebrating great African music, as top music stars will mount the stage of this year’s Vodafone African Legends Night at the Banquet Hall, State House, in Accra.

The show features the likes of Wiyaala, Amandzeba Nat Brew, Nana Tuffour and Akosua Agyapong, all of whom have promised to wow audience and to make a big statement since it is the first time that all four will be gracing the African Legends Night stage.

One of Ghana’s biggest music exports in recent time, Wiyaala has stated meeting and sharing the same stage with South African music star Yvonne Chaka Chaka at this year’s Vodafone African Legends Night is a dream come true.

The young and energetic Wiyaala (lioness of Africa), says she has been yearning to perform. According to her, the event connects very well with her genre of music which is seen to be truly Afro-pop fused with her African roots and contemporary world pop music.
The young energetic singer who described Yvonne as her idol took to twitter to share her admiration for the Princess of Africa.



“It’s an honour to be supporting the Princess of Afropop YvonneChakaX2. #dreamscometrue,” wrote Wiyaala whose genre of music is seen to be truly Afro-pop fused with African roots and contemporary world pop music.

Celebrated South African music superstar Yvonne Chaka Chaka says she’s preparing vigorously towards the event since it will be her first major show headlining in Ghana. In a video message, Yvonne said Ghanaians should throng the venue in their numbers as she takes the African Legends Night to a new level with her infectious pop melodies, youth-minded lyrics and girlish charm. Yvonne Chaka Chaka wrote on her twitter page “Get your dancing shoes again. I am getting myself ready for u all.”

Yvonne is expected to thrill her Ghanaian fans to some of her popular songs from her repertoire such as I’m In Love with the DJ, I’m Burning Up, Thank You Mr. DJ, Umqombothi among others on the night. The artiste, who was once named by Forbes Magazine as one of the top 40 most powerful African celebrities, has performed for Queen Elizabeth, former US President, Bill Clinton, Ex-South African President, Thabo Mbeki, and many other world leaders.

His Excellency Jon Benjamin, the British High Commissioner to Ghana, a well-known fan of Wiyaala, is hoping to be at the event to watch Yvonne and Wiyaala as he tweeted “Can’t wait for this one: have always wanted to catch Yvonne live. With GH’s very own superstar Wiyaala in support”.

Vodafone who are the headline sponsors has promised to give out free tickets to fans who are subscribers of Vodafone Red. According to organizers Global Media Alliance (GMA), their hotlines have been beaming with numerous calls from fans to buy tickets in bulk for friends and families to attend the show.

In an interview, Edwin Amankwah, Director at GMA, said tickets are selling for GHc100 Regular and GHc200 VIP. Fans can purchase tickets at the accredited outlets like Vodafone retail shops, Koala Shopping Mall, Baatsona Total, Global Cinemas, Silverbird Cinemas and Tema Community 11 Shell. African Legends Night is supported by CDH Savings and Loans, Phoenix Insurance, Phoenix Health, Phoenix Life, South African Airways, Huawei, Awake Purified Drinking Water, Avis Rental, Accra City Hotel, DDP, Alomo Gold and powered by Vodafone.
