After Queen’s Birthday, GUBA Awards is the next stop for Wiyaala
The Lioness of Africa has began her 2017 with performances at concert tours just like she did last year. Having a street named after her and was honored at the GLITZS AFRICA, Ghana Women of the Year Honors, the KANDABANYE and Leno hit maker gave another classic performance at the Deutsche AIDS-Hilfe campaign.
Currently on touring in the UK and Europe, Wiyaala has taken a break from her busy schedule to perform at HRH Queen Elizabeth 11’s Official Birthday celebration which will take place today June 1st at the British High Commissioner’s Residence in Accra. The night also witness a performance from Blakk Rasta and Ghanaian rock band Dark Suburb.
The prestigious event which boasts an exclusive guest list of Ghana’s most influential VIPs, was hosted by the very popular British High Commissioner John Benjamin, who is completing his three year posting to Ghana this month before moving on to a new posting in London.
The multiple award winning Singer/Songwriter will sing the Ghanaian and British national anthems as well as performing a live set with the Djimba World Band featuring new songs from her upcoming sophomore album.
According to Isshak Abdullai of YFN NEWS, Wiyaala said: “It’s a great honor to perform at the Queen’s Birthday and I know that I speak for many Ghanaian s who would want to congratulate and thank Jon Benjamin for his hard work and devotion to promoting good and sustainable relations between Ghana and the UK”.
Immediately after the Queens Birthday party, Wiyaala will be on her way back to London to perform at the GUBA Awards at the Intercontinental 02 today Saturday June 3rd.
