Ruff Guy Calls for Support for Budding Musicians

Alhassan Abdul Gafaru, professionally known as Ruff Guy, a Ghanaian afropop, reggae and dancehall artist has called on Northern music industry players to support budding musicians. Ruff Guy who is one of the major acts in dancehall music in the north is the CEO of SAK music group.

Ruff Guy is known as one of the prominent and leading reggae and dancehall artists in Tamale. Ruff Guy was born in Tamale and began making music in his early school days. He studied at the Zogbeli Junior High School.

The motivation and encouragement from his colleagues helped him build his musical talents. Ruff Guy is a music lover, who is passionate about reggae. According to him, listening to reggae music caused him to join the music industry.

Ruff Guy has worked with many prominent artists including Wiz Child, Gaffachi, Ojah Drumz and many more. Artists like Ruff Guy with immeasurable talents, should be given the opportunity to prove their worth in the music industry.

In the Northern music industry where entertainment news disproportionately focuses on Maccasio and Fancy Gadam, so many other talented musicians are overlooked.

We need to build a music industry that is bigger than the 2 widely known musicians while encouraging and uplifting budding artists. This will play a key role in encouraging the upcoming artists to build upon their talents.

Ruff Guy has proven that he is the boss in the reggae and dancehall genres. When such talented musicians are discovered, there is the need for music industry stakeholders to give them the platform to explore their full potential. It is important to not underrate or look down upon such acts. Giving them the opportunity to prove their worth will reveal their talents and this will bring about growth in the Northern music industry.
