Meet the Judge of MTN Hitmaker music reality show in Ghana Ofie Kodjoe. To the left is my Sister and Friend Eva Danso Aikins presenter of Trailer tv showing on Ghone Entertainment TV In late August 2014, i tune to Live fm on Ms Ofie Kodjoe weekly late night show called The Nightcap. Later she interviewed me on air and asked how i came by the name #FISHBONE thus Mohammed Rafiu fishbone . from there we became mother and son. Ofie was born in New York where she received her primary school education, after which she returned with her family to Ghana and attended school at Aburi Girls Secondary School. She then moved back to the U.S. to pursue her tertiary education in New York. Ms. Kodjoe has been performing around the world for the past thirty years and has performed on such shows as BET’s “Walk of Fame” and “Celebration of Gospel”. She has even had the honor of performing for the Otomfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, for President Sirleaf-Johnson of Liberia and Parliamentary audiences in Ghana and Nigeria. Ms. Ofie or Aunty Ofie, as she is referred to by her younger associates, has always been an advocate for youth development, and has over 25 years of training and development under her belt, so it is not a surprise that she has started using these skills to mentor young artistes and other young business visionaries. She sits behind her desk as director of three separate companies, Onyx Management Group, One Nation Entertainment and Excelsis Solutions. She has been living her passion as a performing artist in Accra for the past five years and has made quite an impact on the Ghanaian music scene for the past three years, performing at Joe’s Bar at the Oak Plaza Hotel, Smollensky’s Rooftop Bar & Grill, +233 Jazz Bar, Taverna Tropicana, Sweeties Night Club, and has made special appearances at Starbites, The Jazz Lounge at Alisa Hotel, Alliance Francaise, Republic Bar and Grill and multiple corporate and private events.

The sins of our fathers has really affected us negatively, i hope we learn from them and make right decisions for these kids will definitely blame us if the world does not favor them in the future.

I do not know if i will live long enough, but what i know is that i want and i will help lots of women and children realize their dreams and potentials. i do not know where to start, when to start or even how. All i know is am taking that bold step and am not turning back.

i don't know if this bravery or stupidity, all i know is am in and am staying until the women and children in the world have a better life.

Like seriously why is Ghanaian media so blind, the media in Ghana is so blind that they don't see developmental projects, inspirational people emerging from the youth. so blind that they see nothing positive around us expect politics and celebrities. weeks ago CNN African Voices made a whole feature on Noella Wiyaala, they actually came to her house to do this feature, no media house in Ghana thought it wise to bring that up on their news segments. they were rather busy trying their best to tarnish the image of Sarkodie why?.
Today another aspiring young women made it to the MANDELA WASHINGTON FELLOW thus
Rasheeda Mandeeya Yehuza, Hikmat Baba Dua and others, yet no media house in Ghana has made noise about it, and when they host political party leaders and others they ask ''what they are doing to help the youth''.
So far the media in Ghana is not helping the youth at all, they are even worse than the government and politicians, they only care about money and fame. there are a lot of upcoming artist, entrepreneurs and more but the media only pay attention to politics and international issues, which has no benefit to Ghanaian. a friend made this post '' Here in Ghana Names work not the system #hmmm ''
Those international media house make room for new faces. they pick out issues that turn to benefit them, the people and the nation as a whole. why is the black man always sitting waiting for the white man to come and discover something in their own land before they see how precious it is. every day in Europe and other white countries new faces are popping out and it is their media that make noise about them so why cant we promote our own. UNTIL WE BEGIN TO PROMOTE THE PEOPLE AROUND US, DON'T ASK A POLITICIAN TO PROMOTE MADE IN GHANA GOODS. so i call on all upcoming people in the game to support one another, share the positive stories of each other so we all can grow and change the dirty game these media houses are playing.

Minutes after President John Dramani Mahama finished delivering his State of the Nation address on Thursday, popular actress Yvonne Nelson took to social media to say Ghanaian leaders have failed the nation.
The beautiful and talented actress posted on twitter, “Our leaders have failed us.”
But there were doubts as to whether she was reacting to the President's speech as she preceded her comment with a tweet saying, “I can never get used to this power problem!

To be honest, what she said is nothing but the truth. Nowadays electricity is like water, it plays a key role in our daily lives. We need electricity to power our electronic devices, which i believe everyone is using in this 21 century. Dumsor is killing the Ghana movie industry slowly, people don't buy films because they have less time to watch because of dumsor. 24 hours light off and 12 hours light on. How can one possible have time to watch a film and the economy is also in crisis. Film makers buy fuel to fill generators to film their movies. They pick cars to locations both during pre-production to post-production. They pay camera men, and the crew and cast. So why can they comment of political issues or blame the Government if things are not going on well. When it comes to serving the public, celebrities have done excellent, they donate food and other stuff to the less privilege, organize blood donations etc. What have politicians done, they only give out when it comes to election period. In other countries like Nigeria, America and India. The Government invest in the movie industry and creative arts because they know its serious business. It creates more jobs and boast the countries GDP. But what do we see in Ghana. So in ending i would say she has every right to say our leaders have failed us. Because they really have failed us.

A photo taken by Abdul Raafi Mohammed filming a documentary on WATER AND ITS RELATION TO CULTURE IN THE NORTH... Every day 4,000 children die from illnesses like diarrhea, dysentery, and cholera caused by dirty water and unhygienic living conditions. We can’t fight malnutrition without tackling the diseases that contribute to it. As part of our integrated approach to hunger, we’re getting safe water, sanitation, and hygiene services to communities in need all over the world.

During emergencies, we truck water into affected areas and installs storage tanks and reservoirs. Where water is scarce or unsafe, we drill and decontaminate wells, install hand-pumps, protect natural springs, tap aquifers, rehabilitate damaged infrastructure, and pipe water into hard-to-reach villages and health centers.

To prevent outbreaks of disease during a crisis, our teams distribute hygiene kits and build latrines and hand-washing stations. In communities at risk, we construct water filters made from basic materials and teach healthy practices like hand-washing, cooking with clean utensils, and drawing water from protected sources.

Our commitment to community participation ensures long-term capacity: we train community-based water committees to manage their water and sanitation infrastructure themselves, and organize village health teams to model good sanitation and hygiene practices for their communities long after we leave an area.

  • 4,000 children under the age of five die every day from preventable water-related diseases.
  • One in eight people lacks access to enough clean water to meet their basic needs.
  • More than half of the hospital beds in developing countries are taken by people suffering from diarrheal diseases.
  • Half of girls who stop attending primary school in Africa do so because of the lack of safe and private toilets.
