September To Remember, " Anas Film Premiere At AICC "

Anas Arimeyaw Anas is Ghanaian undercover investigative journalist. " Due to my work, I am anonymous and my anonymity is in fact an important tool in my investigations. My undercover investigations focus primarily on issues of human rights abuse (especially child abuses) and corruption. I have carried out undercover investigations in many countries and in different continents. My primary focus remains in Sub Saharan Africa. My human right investigations deals with creating a better life and providing equal opportunities for children and adults being abused to grow whilst my corruption investigations focus on Government employees and executives who instead of working for the people rather loot the national kitty and thus deprive citizens of essential amenities that would create a better standard of living for them". Says Anas
Anan " My aim in doing undercover journalism is to name, shame and jail. In our part of the world, sometimes simply gathering information is not enough, you need to back it up with hard core evidence and this is what I do. I remain eternally grateful to my fans all over the world for the many words of encouragement that I receive every day. Your encouragement and acknowledgement of my work makes it easier for me to wake up every day and continue with this crusade". "As a person, I strongly believe that extreme remedies are the most appropriate for extreme diseases. Not everybody gets happy with what I do. In the face of all the threats and problems, I remain committed. I belong to the remedy". The latest corruption exposé by investigative journalist Anas Arimeyaw Anas in Ghana’s judiciary, has sent overwhelming anxiety and fear among some of the country’s top judges. A yet-to-be released video points fingers at very notable judges who have been involved in high profile cases in the country. A total of 34 judges were caught on camera receiving bribes while others were involved in other corruption-related activities to influence judgment - Some judges indicted in the massive judicial corruption scandal have petitioned the Judicial Council in an attempt to halt the upcoming premiering of the video. According to Starr FM’s Court reporter, Wilberforce Asare, the judges argue that exposing all the judges to the public will be damaging to Ghana’s reputation. Asare adds that the judges want the corruption video to be shown only to the Judicial Council for sanctions to be taken thereafter. According to StarrFMonline, one Justice Obimpeh is currently on admission at the Nyaho Clinic in Accra while another accused, Justice Charles Quist, has reportedly suffered mild stroke since news of the scandal started making rounds. Anas Aremeyaw Anas in collaboration with StarrFMonline.com will be released in full in the coming weeks, ahead of a premiere at the Accra International Conference Centre. In what has already been described as the “biggest scandal ever to hit Ghana’s judicial service,” Anas has served notice the video and other hardcore evidence will shake the “democratic foundation of Ghana. ” A trailer of the incriminatory video which will be released on starrFMonline.com this week, shows money changing hands as one could hear the judges including, a Human Rights Court judge Kofi Essel Mensah, Charles Quist (a High Court Judge) allegedly making demands to throw away cases which include robbery, murder and corruption among others. “What if I release him (armed robbery suspect) on Friday and I don’t see you again?” Quist was heard on tape allegedly quizzing someone. “Oh I will get him off. I will get him off the hook on Friday but everything will depend on you,” he stressed in the conversation. Did Justices Mensah, Quist, Ajet-Nassam and the 31 other judges eventually succumb to the inducement to free their suspects? StarrFMonline.com can confirm that the Judicial Council and the Chief Justice have refused to accept the resignation letter of Justice John Ajet-Nassam, Justice Ajet-Nassam, has however, handed in his official vehicles and other state equipment with him. It is unclear the basis for the rejection of his resignation by the CJ and the Judicial Council.
Ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, has revealed that after his upcoming corruption exposé on the judiciary, his next destination will be the legislature which houses 275 members. According to Anas, his office has overwhelming evidence that they have gathered over the years about the country’s Parliament that needed to be told. The investigative journalist who spoke through his Editor-In-Chief, Kwaku Baako Junior, on Peace FM, said there is no turning back even with the compelling evidence gathered so far about the legislature. “Even if we don’t go back to continue with our mission, what we have gathered about Parliament is enough to tell our story to Ghanaians and the rest of the world,” he noted. The Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, however, cautioned the Executive to also be on the lookout since they are part of the surveillance exercise they are conducting.
