Lamisi “Tanka Fanka” Hits No 1 on StarXTV '' Northern Gh Top 10 ''

According to Ghanandum, many Ghana Music Industry players won’t be surprised at Lamisi’s solo career with this new single she calls “Tanka Fanka”. But in Northern Ghana majority of music lovers were stuned to when they saw Lamisi “Tanka Fanka” on StarXTV.











Born Regina Lamisi Awiniman Anabilla Akuka, she is one of the powerful voices who’s played on various major Ghanaian live band sets. Lamisi who is still with her Band (Patch Bay Band), soothes in this first single “Tanka Fanka”, a phrase coined from the Hausa parlance which means “forget everyone and stay focused”. This single, produced by Adangba is tipped to officially introduce the silky voice Singer’s solo career.

In an interview with Showbiz, Lamisi who is a member of the Patch Bay band said the title of her song, Tanka Fanka, is derived from an expression in the Hausa language, Karika Fanka, which means, “stay focused.”

In the song, Lamisi who sings in a mix of Hausa, Kusaal and English tells listeners that everyone has problems in life but the difference is how people choose to approach them. 
According to Lamisi, the best option is to choose to be happy and dance the problems away. 





Tanka Fanka is a high tempo, upbeat Afropop song mixed with traditional rhythm with a strong vocal delivery from Lamisi who manages to give a good account of herself on the song. 

She told Showbiz that she has plans to release an album by next year but this would be preceded by a number of singles. 


“I have always had a passion for singing but the reason I am only now releasing a single is because I wanted to focus primarily on my education. I have got a lot more in store for Ghanaians,” she said.
