ROCKY DAWUNI AND WIYAALA LIGHT UP EUROPE
Wiyaala will perform in
September for the Legends of Africa event, before playing with her
compatriot Rocky Dawuni in Los Angeles, USA. Rocky Dawuni is a GRAMMY nominated Ghanaian singer and songwriter who
performs his signature 'Afro Roots' sound which is a mixture of Reggae,
Afrobeat, Highlife and soul music. The Ghanaian sensational singer Wiyaala Nicknamed 'the Young Lioness of Africa', will in a few weeks play concerts in Europe and in the US. Wiyaala has been on tour over the last few months and has made an appearance at the WOMAD International Arts Festival in July.
Straddles the boundaries between Africa, the Caribbean and the U.S. to create an appealing sound that unites generations and cultures. In that time, she has also put out some new music. She has announced date for forthcoming appearances onstage in the UK, Germany and the US.
Kicking off her list of upcoming performances is the prestigious Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London on 24 August. Thereafter, Wiyaala will appear at the launch of the Ghana Music Week in London as well.
It will then be Germany’s turn to host the singer on 26 August at the Afrika Festival taking place in Hamburg.

Rocky Dawuni, returns once again to light up the City of Angels, on Saturday August 6th at the Levitt Pavilion Los Angeles in MacArthur Park. The “Branches of the Same Tree Tour” thrilled huge audiences across Spain, Belgium, Germany, Latvia, Czech Republic as well as a performance at the legendary Bangalore Place in India with GRAMMY winning musician / composer Ricky Kej and very special guests.
Rocky Dawuni and his all star band will be joined by famed DJ Drez who has performed with Rocky off and on for many years and now is one of the top DJs in the wellness and yoga communities.The GRAMMY nominated Afro Roots star, Rocky Dawuni, returned from his highly successful summer tour of Europe and India.
Born Noella Wiyaala, the All Africa Music Award winner sings in English and in Sissala and Waale. Wiyaala has been in the spotlight since winning a talent show as member of a group called Black N Peach. She’s currently brand ambassador for a number of agencies. Wiyaala is known as an advocate for gender equality. In July, she spoke to the BBC about child marriage and issues within the Ghana music industry. “I can use my music to throw light on these things. And use myself as example,” she said.
Born in 1969 and originally comes from the northern Yendi Dagbon region of Ghana, Rocky Dawun. He grew up at Michel Camp Army Barracks near Accra, where his father was an army sergeant.Rocky Dawuni International music star and humanitarian activities.
