“The ” Gold teeth ” is neither an activity nor a requirement for Hajj ” – Naafi’u

Ever since Sheefa Pagbisalma shared her opinion on why she removed her ” Hajj Gold Tooth ” many have been wondering what exactly is the purpose of the ” gold teeth ” and its significance to Hajj.

While others have now realized that one can go to Hajj without coming home with a ” gold teeth ”

After reading Sheefa Pagbisalma story, Aj Oke said ” Honestly, I thought once you go to hajj and back , one has to wear a gold teeth. In fact people who didn’t wear them we had thought they were not credible Alhaji and Alhaja. We usually don’t reckon with them but reading this has put things into different perspectives for me

Muhammad Naafik also had this to share “First of all, Hajj comes with lots of benefits for Muslims, which include; spiritual, social, and worldly benefits. I will only touch on the worldly benefits in response to the expressed opinion of our sister.

Owners of vehicles and the likes rent them out to help pilgrims during hajj activities, hence, source of earnings for the owners. Pilgrims do also engage in trade by bringing goods with and taking goods with them from Makkah. The likes of zamzam( holy water from Makkah) are brought from Mekkah to many countries for commercial purposes. Engaging in these activities during hajj doesn’t nullify nor reduce the reward of a person’s hajj. Same way a person depending on his status (health and/or financial) can fix the number of gold teeth he/she wants. But it shouldn’t be fixed for show off.

Emphasis must be placed on the fact that, fixing the gold teeth is never an activity of Hajj. Never and never…

Beside one can decide to put them on without performing Hajj. They are sold everywhere.

I think it’s only in Ghana and perhaps in some few countries that people fix these ” gold teeth ” when returning from Hajj. Just take a look at most of the great Islamic scholars like Dr Zakir Naik and the likes, they’ve performed Hajj several times without the gold teeth.

To conclude, putting on the gold teeth is neither an activity nor a requirement for Hajj. One can fix it to replace his/her lost tooth or teeth, or just being excited for performing Hajj. It mustn’t be for show off. Show off is forbidden in Islam.

A person should rather concentrate on performing Hajj sincerely for the sake of Allaah. Strive to perform your base on the guidance of the prophet ( blessing and peace of Allah be upon him). Strive to perform your rituals in a calm and dignified manner etc.

Allah is the most knowledgeable ” .

A lady also confirmed that, she removed her ” gold teeth ” when she got to the United States of America, why because she realized most gang men and women also had similar ” gold teeth “.
