Regional Minister Redeems His Pledge To Support GMSA UDS-TLC

The President of  GMSA UDS TLC , Mr. Issah Abdul- Aziz, on Friday, the 3rd of November, 2017 confirmed the receipt of 100 bags of cement as promised by the Northern Regional Minister, Mr Salifu Saeed .This is to be used to support the on going GMSA Mosque project.

The minister made the pledge on  Sunday the 22nd of October, 2017, when he honored an invitation by the GMSA- UDS Tamale Campus.






During the program, issues concerning the  on going Mosque project was brought to his attention. The project started a few months ago but has been stalling due to lack of funds. The Minister upon hearing this pledged  to support the project. He made arrangements to donate  hundred bags of cement as a personal act of benevolence. He also pledged to help sponsor the decking of the project. The Mosque is supposed to be a two-storey building.


The on-going mosque project
The program was dubbed “GMSA- Welcoming Of Freshers” – a three day program.It is an annual  program organized to properly welcome and  to orientate fresh muslim men and women on the activities of GMSA on UDS Tamale Campus. The program started on the 20th of October with sporting activities,  21st October was dubbed “Qur’anic Exhibition” – it brought together Muslim students to showcase their prowess when it comes to Islamic knowledge and Qur’anic recitation.


The Minister Visited The construction Site
The climax of the three days event was on the 22nd of October, 2017. The theme for the event was “Discipline: The role of the Muslim Student” The event took place at the Dr. Andani Chamber in UDS Tamale Campus. The speaker for the day was Mr. Mohammed Saani Alhassan ( Chairman of NAGRAT, Northern Region). He spoke extensively on the need for students to subscribe to the tenets of discipline in order to attain both academic and spiritual excellence.

GMSA- UDS Tamale Campus is still in dire need of funds to complete the project. The leadership of GMSA is therefore appealing for support from individuals, organizations, philanthropists and the general public to help fund the on going project.
