THE REAL REASON BEHIND THE OUT BREAK OF CHOLERA IN ACCRA...
My name is Abdul Raafi Mohammed, popularly known as fishbone. I come from Tamale, but have recently moved to Accra to take a risk in my career.
I have noticed and observed how people in Accra live day in day out, and have come to the conclusion that the residence in Accra are working very hard when it comes to learning their environment but they are faced by three(3) problems from my point of view. These problems are as followed;
firstly; many residence in the Accra metropolis do not have access to dust bins, which makes it difficult for them to take time to clean their environment properly. Moreover i heard on Radio that the president was distributing dust bins, that was a good move, but this falls under the second problem.
Secondly most residence who have access to proper dust bins also face difficult challenges, from my little investigation i was told that to dispose or empty your dust bin you will have to pay,i will be forced to leave the rubbish outside or better still wake up early in the morning and pour it on the streets on the gutters, resulting to choked gutters leading to the breeding of mosquito hence increase in malaria etc.
Thirty; is the building of public toilets for children the ages of 5years to 15years, better still for primary and JHS students only. This can help reduce the difficatin around our compounds and forest. I over heard the president say toilets owner/keepers should allow children to enter free, to me is impossible. With this our African mentality, high illiteracy rate and lack of manners and certescy. I this the best way is to build public toilets for primary and JHS students to enter free so that the keepers of these toilets will be paid by the metropolitan assembly.
This is what i have notice and my suggestions. I hope this can be of great help and development. I would love to apologies in case i have stepped on someone's toe with my choice of words.
