Two Northerners From Ghana, Grap International Awards

The Anzisha Prize seeks to award young entrepreneurs who have developed and implemented innovative solutions to social challenges or started successful businesses within their communities. 12 finalists from across Africa will win an all-expenses paid trip to South Africa to be a part of a week-long entrepreneurship workshop and conference at the African Leadership Academy campus on the outskirts of Johannesburg. The grand prize winners, selected from these finalists, will share prizes worth $75,000 USD.
Mabel Suglo from Ghana, founder of Eco Shoes, was the second runner up for this year Anzisha Prize . Mabel offers an assortment of shoes and accessories that are fashionable and Afro-themed, using recycled materials. Her employee-base is predominantly disabled individuals. She aims to increase their economic participation through job opportunities. Mabel believes that disability is not inability and employs people with a variety of disabilities to create products that she sells into wholesale and retail markets.
Raymond Vuol is the Executive Director of Countrywise communications Ghana, centered in Tamale, northern region, countrywise Ghana is able to cover all aspects of training and promotional videos, working throughout West Africa; Countrywise Ghana is able to assist clients throughout the west of the continent to help produce top quality videos in many international and local languages. Countrywise Ghana assists private sector, NGO’s and rural development projects, countrywise is able to start with planning and research so that a structured script is developed.
November 2015, Countrywise Communication Ghana again picked up an award at the first ever Access Agriculture Awards 2015 and it focuses on smallholder farmers and local innovations. The Awards came in three categories thus Video Production Partners Award:Judging based on the production of “farmer to farmer” videos and the success of distribution. Media Houses and Media Partners Award: Judging based on use of Access Agriculture programmes and promotion. Video Outreach Award: Judging based on video distribution and collection of feedback. Countrywise Communication Ghana won the category of the Video Outreach Award.
In 2013, Countrywise communication was given two awards by the International Visual Communication Association in London.
