Alhassan Rabiu writes, Dear Adnan,
If I could take you on a rare promenade along the green fields on the slopes of my heart, I gladly would. Who wouldn't? You already graciously saunter within the inner chambers of my soul. Yes, you've earned the license of temerity to do so without my permission. You've shown the world that humility still has a place in an epoch where many think it hasn't. The oceans of well wishes that have occupied the land mass of Facebook and other socialmedia in honour of you this day simply issue a testimonial of how a good character can be resplendent. Greatest is the honour the cometh with knowing you. When I wrote "When a good person is born, the flag of humanity flies high", I had you within the bracket of good people. It's your birthday. Not only do I celebrate the day and date, I also celebrate you. For the prayer of glory, blessings and success, many have done. And on my part, "Quod erat demonstrandum"!

CELEBRATING A GREAT SOUL OF THE SAVANNAH
To the name of one
held in the people's highest
regards, given in due;
to the name of one
man bequeathed unto many
paths that would see too;
to the name of one
keeping an old reminder aloft,
caller to the people's call:
here I surrender too
a write belated, yet dated
to stitch reverence to your place
in days, once in the tenth moon.
They say you are a better one --
a sage without the tell of age.
They say you are headstrong,
puffing minds into nothingness.
That you are greatness
called into our kind's flesh and form.
That you are Adnan Abdulai ,
birthed and beheld all of yesterday.
Happy belated earthstrong day, man.

POEM
[Adnan Abdulai : The ray of Sunshine]
An unknown dream written on a lax ream
Revealing its faceless ream was a basted seam
Openly, I saw a shadowy seaman along a beam
He was brimming across the shakes of life
Livening the unsettled souls of Mama's life
Just to brighten up the Cheerless' verve
And to slacken off the Fretful's nerve
In snores, I woke up to feel his present absent
At the siesta, I received his absent's present
During our tete-a-tete, our grins were cuddling
At the muzzle of our foreplay, we were paddling
On the 24th day of October, his name unveiled
The merry well-wishers shall hum unaneled
Pushing the Boat out to offload his blessings
The nearest and dearest all pray for mercies
