Mr Alhassan Rabiu Digs Deep into the word '' LEGACY ''

Many will say, Poetry is a form of literature that uses aesthetic and rhythmic qualities of language such as phonaesthetics, sound symbolism, and metre to evoke meanings in addition to, or in place of, the prosaic ostensible meaning, others will say its an art form in which human language is used for its aesthetic qualities in addition to, or instead of, its notional and semantic content, either way Mr Alhassan Rabiu has a special way of captivating his readers and pulling their memories back and forward, east and west, up and down, and guest what, readers enjoy this ride of his. Here is Mr Rabiu latest poem.
LEGACY
When the rivers
of sorrow dry
and the streams
of joy filled to the brim
we shall recount
the stories of yesterday
and guide our steps
by the very humble past
We shall stand
on the banks of the streams
and pull the hands
of they that live
our gruesome past
we shall strive
to create us among them
in this hour of extending hands
When the evenings
come with the inevitable
and the dawns
come with news
of our irresistible voyage
we shall have had
our names shall be sung
in every line of the dirges
and our stories read
in every book of legacies
for our bones and souls
shall find peace to rest
knowing we could not
walk the paths of perfection
but led lives worthy...
yes, lives worthy of
the songs and stories

(Alhassan Rabiu)
