Mr. Obed of Spice-Ghana Analyze Nazz Music

For many art is a dynamic expression of self, experiences and an interpretation of visions but we will generally accept that beyond the subjective nature there will always be ideals. So every new artiste must be ready to undergo a series of critique which can make one excel in their chosen field of art especially music.

A few weeks a go www.thesavannaonline.com received a song from Raafi in Tamale, the song by Nazz left such a huge impression about Nazz’s ability to bring something danceable yet refreshing to music made in the savanna regions of Ghana.

SavannahOnline  decided to bring in someone we can describe as a musical aficionado into the fray as we seek to analyze Money-O.

Without mincing words Mr. Obed O. Otoo an experienced sound engineer and the man behind the numerous caller tunes made available by Spice-Ghana had the following to say on this maiden release by Nazz.

“Good sounding Afro pop...the song can match any of the Afro pop songs trending now. It can easily make you dance. The simple yet complicated theme is enticing enough to capture the mind of listeners, whilst making the listener loose the fact that the song is in more than one language. The beat maker did a good job and mixed well. But one can always suggest a thing or two when it comes to the beat and the mix; however, I take nothing away from the producer and the mixing engineer. They did well.... I would have loved to hear a ladies voice when it came to the chorus to give that segment of the song a different vibe. If it is promoted well, and not rushed to become a top 10 or 20 song it would climb slowly to the top and will do well even in Nigeria and some parts of Africa where afro pop has huge following.

You can hear an East African vibe mixed with a Ghanaian and Nigerian style of vocal delivery, however the singer still manages to sound original, something I attribute to his flawless switch  between his native language, pidgin and English, which suggests how much control and command he has on the song. It will be interesting to hear him on a song with Diamond Platinum of Tanzania or P-Square. If the lead vocalist continues singing this way for the next year or two he will be one of the power houses when it comes to Ghanaian artistes who will be making it big in Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. “…Obed O. On 17th October, Afro Pop, Highlife and Soul artiste Nazz has dropped a  refix of Tekno’s  Pana Track, Nazz Pana refix has received positives views from Djs to Music critics, as if that wasn’t enough Ghana’s King Sark dropped a refix of Pana on the 20th, just 3 days after Nazz Pana refix. Nazz pana is seen to be more popular than Sarkodie Pana

The Tamale based artiste appears to have really put in a lot of work to come up with this beautiful song sang in Dagabani and English. The melodies, hooks and verses are just so in sync that dancing becomes less of a struggle.
