Rocky Dawuni Lecture at the University of California
Ghana’s GRAMMY Award nominee was invited
to deliver a lecture at UCLA this week. The lecture was organized under the
auspices of UCLA’s Department of Ethnomusicology will focus on the history of
Ghanaian music and the contributions of Ghana’s first GRAMMY Nominee to the
internationalization of the Ghanaian sound.
The class was held in Schoenberg
Hall, which is the large auditorium in the Herb Alpert School of Music/Mo Ostin
Music Center at UCLA on Wednesday, October 5 at 10am.
2016 has been a busy music schedule
for Ghana's Rocky Dawuni, his current feature in Indian classical music Desh
raag, One Song has received positive views across the globe. It is not every
day that an all-star cast of stellar Grammy Award winning musicians from across
the world comes together in the city to create mesmerizing musical works of
art.
Rocky also gave a spectacular performance
at the Legends of Africa event in Los Angeles, the GRAMMY nominated Ghanaian
singer and songwriter has appear on different concerts and festivals in the
last few months.
