MR MAN RESPECT OUR WOMEN

In recent times i have seen on news papers and on television, women been insulted and called names by public and political officials, In my observation that educated men and even public figures still don't value the efforts of women in our societies regardless of their educational achievements, business success and many more. One could say that disrespecting women used to happen back in the days, sorry to disappoint you but as of this moment well educated men still stand in public, insult women, attacking their gender and some how i would say jealous and suspicious about their success.

There have attempts to scare, isolate, or control women, these I classify as also abuse. They affect their physical and emotional well-being. Violence strikes women from all kinds of backgrounds and of all ages. It can happen at work, on the street, or at home. Sometimes, women are attacked by strangers, but most often they are hurt by people who are close to them, such as a husband, partner at work place, close friend, mutual friend, business partner, competitor, etc. Whether you are attacked by a stranger or mistreated by a partner, violence and abuse can have terrible effects.

Appiah Stadium refuses to apologize for Yvonne Nelson “Prostitute” insult
“If you call Mahama a liar and someone insults you, what is wrong with it”, Kumasi-based serial caller, Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as Appiah Stadium has justified the reason he called Yvonne Nelson a prostitute. He said he gave the actress a dose of her own medicine after calling President John Mahama on BBC a lair. “If you call Mahama a liar and someone insults you, what is wrong with it?, he quizzed. Actress, Yvonne has incurred the wrath of ardent followers of the ruling party after he launched her campaign, #Dumsormuststop on social media.
The attacks has worsened after she together with rapper Sarkodie and other artistes in the showbiz industry decided to hold a dumsor vigil on May 16, 2015 to put pressure on government to end the worsening power crisis, But most members and sympathizers of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) claim they are doing the bidden of their pay masters in the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP). In support, Appiah Stadium urged the “so-called celebrities” to show their political colours “so that we can match them boot-for-boot. He alleged that the dumsor vigil is being sponsored by the NPP’s flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo. “I have evidence to prove that they collected money from Nana Akufo-Addo for the vigil; they should dare me and I will produce pictures to prove,” he warned. Appiah Stadium wondered why some people are making ugly noises about the power crisis when in 2007 under the NPP; the country went into a similar challenge.
“Anyone who insults Mahama must be ready to face me because I will defend him till I die,” he added. Appiah Stadium said he will only apologise to Yvonne Nelson if she also render an unqualified apology to President Mahama for calling him a liar.

Alhaji Halidu Haruna, a presidential staffer in the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, has taken a swipe at some of the country's celebrities for daring to criticise Government, in the wake of the current energy crisis. On Saturday, he described the female celebrities who had appealed to the Mahama administration to fix the crisis as 'prostitutes', while another NDC commentator, Dela Coffie, said the stars were in their 'menopause,' for amplifying the concerns of Ghanaians including businesses. Halidu, who was a spokesperson for the Ghana Hajj Board, took to his Facebook page to say that Ghanaian female celebrities who were above 30 years of age and not married were prostitutes, apparently referring to  Lydia Forson  and  Yvonne Nelson , who are leading the 'DumsorMustStop' campaign.

'Are those celebrities who are above the age of 30 years and not married responsible? What are they waiting for? Is it the prostitution that they are engaged in which has turned their minds upside down and they don't sound reasonable again? I have no respect for prostitutes. Let them say whatever they want to say, their mouth no bi gun,' he posted on his Facebook page.
Halidu claimed that the celebrities were to be considered 'irresponsible' as they were above 30 years of age and still unmarried. Halidu's comments received mass condemnation, with many people asking if unmarried women above 30 years and working under President John Mahama's administration were also irresponsible and prostitutes.

Mr Agyapong has been severely criticized since alleging at a mini New Patriotic Party (NPP) rally that the EC Chair, Charlotte Osei, traded sex for the position she occupies.
Gender and Social Protection Minister, Nana Oye Lithur and Foreign Affairs Minister, Hannah Tetteh, have called on the Member of Parliament to retract the comments and apologize.
The Ghana Bar Association (GBA) has also condemned the comments by the MP. Mr Agyapong allegedly made the comments against the EC Chair while addressing some NPP supporters at Asokwa in Kumasi, the Ashanti Region capital.

He is reported to have said some highly placed officials in government told Charlotte Osei to, “bring your buttocks in exchange for EC Chair position.”
