MTV Multiple Award Winner Ahmed Soultan Talks To Sanatu Zambang

Winner of 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards, Best Middle East Act,  Best Middle East, Africa, India" and then Best Worldwide Act. 2013 Best Pop Act at the Meditel Morocco Music Awards. Winner of MTV Best North Africa & Middle East, MTV Best Africa,Middle East,India and MTV Worldwide Nomine Act at the 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards, Ahmed Soultan founder of Afrobian music genre, considered as the master of the contemporary music scene in Morocco, Soultan music is known for being culturally rich. It’s uniqueness from diversity of our African roots with a modern mode.  

Ahmed Soultan  collaborated with the famous American singer Ne-Yo, on a song called "Amazing You" ; in 2011, his song "Jokko" was nominated as Best North African song and best African reggae song of the year.  A fan of Ahmed Soultan called Lamia told  Sanatu Zambang, “ Soultan music is the kind of music that you can't come across it without being inspired, it's a journey of delight, knowledge and true feelings”

When asked who or what inspired him to move to the music world, Ahmed Soultan told Sanatu Zambang " i never wanted to be an artist, it was an accident! My sister Samira, my friends from Gabon & Congo and my brother told me "man you should try". Singing in four languages ( Amazigh, Arabic, English and French), Ahmed Soultan took part in many international musical events, including the Kora Awards in South Africa, the opening of a Tiken Jah Fakoli concert in Dakar, his contribution to the People Power song (beside Talib Kweli, Angelique Kidjo or Zap Mama ), Fez's Sacred Musics Festival, Marrakech's Moonfest, Casablanca Music Festival and many other European scenes (Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris)

Music has various ways of communicating to people aside from entertaining, the Morocco super sensational star describes Afrobian music as " Afrobian Music is a sub-genre for North Africa contemporary music using rhythms and instruments of our lands and mainstream music codes " His 1st album "Tolerance" (2005), which contains his first single "Ya Salam". And then his 2nd album "Code" (2009) which contains the 1st extract "Achkide". The stage name "Soultan" is inspired from "soul" With the success of his first single "Ya Salam",

The Moroccan singer artist, considered as one of the leaders of the "Nayda". (new urban Moroccan scene). Often called the OSNI (Objet Sonore Non Identifié),which could be translated "USO", for "Unknown Sounding Object", for his very particular style said  " Emancipation of our cultures and our continent by owning what we do and spreading the image WE WANNA Spread, when asked what his music seek to achieve aside from entertaining music lovers''

Another confession from Houda, a fan of Ahmed Soultan music told Sanatu Zambang " one thing is sure, you cannot not like him once you meet him, because he's really so kind, so humble and really really generous.. he literally offers to his fans and supporters all his attention, patience and time by just being himself, therefore what I like about Ahmed Soultan the most is his character. Musically, for me he is one of the rarest artists who are really still producing MUSIC. For example, If you take any song and just try to focus on the music, despite his heartwarming voice and meaningful lyrics, you will realise how great the instruments and the fusions are.."

Ahmed Soultan with a smile and winked, told Sanatu Zambang, his private life remains private. Hence didn’t want to disclose his private life. Speaking about his album MHNB (Music Has No Boundaries) Ahmed Soultan said " Femi Kuti, George Clinton, Fred Wesley, Pee Wee Ellis, Tekitha, Akala, Wiyaala are in. one has to buy it and get an idea of Afrobian music . “This Is Who I Am” is the first single from Ahmed’s album MHNB (Music Has No Boundaries) “This Is Who I Am”, described by the Moroccan star as “AfroBian” in style, is a fusion of both Afro and Arabian rhythms and features four languages, English, French, Arabic and Wiyaala’s own Sissala dialect. “This Is Who I Am” was recorded at the Studio Hiba in Casablanca. "This is who I am" was nominated for 2015  Afrima Awards and won the BEST MALE ARTISTE IN NORTHERN AFRICA  category
